Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 multiplayer beta officially dated for PS4, Xbox One, and PC

PS4 owners get first dibs on Black Ops 3 multiplayer beta

Earlier this month, courtesy of a San Diego Comic-Con goody bag, we learned that the multiplayer beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 would be held on PS4 from August 19 through August 23rd, but it was never actually announced. Today, Activision confirmed those dates, along with dates for the Xbox One and PC betas.

As expected, PlayStation 4 owners will enjoy exclusive first access to the beta courtesy of Sony's new partnership with Activision. PS4 beta will be held on Wednesday, August 19 through Sunday, August 23.

The multiplayer beta for both Xbox One and PC will begin a few days later on Wednesday, August 26, and will run through Sunday, August 30.

"During the beta, fans will have an opportunity to try the new momentum-based, chained movement system, find the perfect Specialist to fit their play style, get a feel for the new multiplayer maps, and more," Activision revealed, promising more details about the beta's launch, the included maps and modes, and more in the coming weeks.

As a reminder, the multiplayer beta is available to anyone who pre-orders Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 on PS4, Xbox One, or PC. The actual game is set for release on November 6, 2015.
