Just ahead of San Diego Comic-Con, Treyarch announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops 3's multiplayer beta will begin on August 19 on PlayStation 4.
Although beta will eventually be offered on Xbox One and PC as well, Sony's new partnership with Activision means PS4 players will get first access to the multiplayer beta. It's unclear how long Xbox and PC players will have to wait, but if it's similar to the timed exclusiveness of Call of Duty's DLC, it'll probably be around 30 days. That would put the Xbox and PC multiplayer around September 19, about a month and a half before the game's actual release.
Of course, this is all speculation. Treyarch said that more information about Black Ops 3's beta is "coming soon." Although Treyarch hosting a Black Ops 3 panel tomorrow, I wouldn't expect any more details about the beta then as the panel seems strictly focused on the world reveal of Zombies Mode and the game's Collector's Editions.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will launch November 6, 2015 on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.
