Call of Duty: Black Ops 3's resolution and frame rate have been revealed for two of the three platforms the highly anticipated first-person shooter will arrive one.
For PlayStation 4, Black Ops 3 will run at full 1080p resolution in 60 frames per second. Similarly, the PC version will also run at 60 frames per second, but can go up to a max 4K resolution.
The odd one out here? You guess it, Xbox One, which Treyarch has not yet confirmed the resolution for. While the developer has revealed the Xbox One version will run at 60 frames per second, the resolution has not yet been finalized. According to some reports, Treyarch studio head Mark Lamia has previously stated that frame rate is more important than resolution, should the decision come down to it on Xbox One. I think many of us would agree with that.
Interestingly, the official reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 was not prefaced with a "presented by Xbox." Perhaps we're seeing a shift in what was once one of the more powerful partnerships between Activision and Microsoft.
