Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s beta is starting very soon. PlayStation 4 users will be the first to enjoy the multiplayer beta starting this Thursday. You can watch the new trailer for the incoming beta here!
Activision is following their previously announced plans to hold a beta for this year’s Call of Duty title. What would have been pretty standard every other time is actually an impressive feat by the company. In a delay-ridden year where dozens of games and events have been massively delayed, it’s almost a miracle that a huge project like Black Ops Cold War is trucking along nicely.
As a partnership with Sony, the beta will start early on PS4 with users who pre-ordered the game being able to start as soon as October 8th until the 9th. An open beta on the PS4 between October 10-12 will then allow all PlayStation 4 gamers to join the fun.
Gamers on all other platforms will have to muster up additional patience as their beta on Xbox One & PC will take place between October 15-16 for gamers who pre-ordered Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. PlayStation 4 will have an extra open beta for the same period. Lastly, an open beta across all platforms will give virtually everyone a chance to try out the multiplayer portion of Cold War between October 17-19.
The beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War entails only the multiplayer portion of the entire package. So, don’t expect to try out the zombie mode. But what is being offered should be plenty of content for the entire duration.
Team Deathmatch, Domination, VIP Escort, Kill Confirmed, and Combined Arms across multiple maps will suffice for much more than just a slice of the experience. Players can also expect to get a free weapon blueprint in the final game if they reach level 10 in the beta.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War launches November 13th for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series.
