Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War trailer reveals return of Woods

After many months of waiting, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has its first gameplay trailer. The trailer does indeed confirm the leaks that this is a direct sequel to 2010’s Black Ops. The likes of Woods, Mason, and Hudson return in the 1980s to take on an all-new threat: a Russian infiltrator known as Peresus.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War takes heavy inspiration from real world events and includes key figures from that time period. The story looks to give us yet another globe-trotting adventure filled with spectacle that only Call of Duty can deliver. For the first time ever, players can also create their own character in campaign. The player will make choices and branching narrative paths, including multiple endings.

Players can also expect a new zombies experience as well as the on-going evolution of Warzone.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will have multiple editions to buy including a cross-gen version. This means you will have to pay extra to play on both current-gen and next-gen if you choose to. That said, it’s only $69.99 so it’s not a significant price increase. You can also buy the ultimate edition for $99.99 which includes the cross-gen edition and extra in-game content.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War was officially revealed last week but has been the subject of many leaks and rumors for over a year. In 2019, it was revealed Sledgehammer Games (Advanced Warfare, WWII) had been reportedly pulled off their 2020 title. Treyarch (Black Ops series) then moved their game up a year.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will have a multiplayer reveal in September along with a beta. The game itself will release on November 13th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. It’ll also release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X when available. All pre-orders include access to the beta as well as a Frank Woods skin for Warzone.
