Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 add-on content will arrive first on Xbox 360, Microsoft announced today. The company didn't announce any official plans, but you can bet it will be similar to the current arrangement that Microsoft has with Activision with Modern Warfare 3
Xbox 360 users that are subscribed to the Elite service will likely get Black Ops 2 DLC first, followed by all Xbox 360 users, and eventually all other platforms.
This announcement comes on the heels that Tomb Raider will also be launching DLC first on Xbox 360. This seems to be a trend by Microsoft. Rather than paying for exclusive titles, the company seems fine with paying for exclusive, early access to DLC add-on content.
The Microsoft press briefing closed with a trailer for Black Ops 2 which showed a lot of explosions, chaos, and an environment that is actually similar to what I'm seeing right now in L.A. I know it's supposed to be destroyed and in ruins, but really, it's not too different than the current L.A. This city is disgusting.
The trailer, however, looked pretty entertaining. It showed off some impressive looking gameplay as Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 brings the series in to the near future. Black Ops 2 will be set in the year 2025, propelling players in a Cold War-like global conflict inspired by today's headlines. We saw some futuristic technology that caused massive damage, but overall the gameplay looked similar to how Modern Warfare 3 plays.
