Call of Duty: Ghosts official reveal coming next week?

The next installment for Call of Duty could be revealed as early as next week. Blueprints for the promotion display of the next title in Activision's popular Call of Duty franchise indicate a May 1st unveiling, although it's not clear what exactly Activision will show off.

The photo below suggests that the promotional material is on its way to GameStop stores to be displayed next week, but what will be revealed remains to be seen. Displays like the one below typically show off some sort of poster along with multiple copies of the game box, so it's possible that May 1st will only be the reveal of the game's official title along with an image of its box art. Considering we might have already seen the box art thanks to leaked product listings, that wouldn't be too exciting.

However, assuming the reveal is similar to last year's Black Ops 2 — which is totally possible considering last year's CoD was also unveiled on the same day — we can also expect some very basic story details. We might see a trailer, but as I previously predicted, I think the bulk of gameplay and information will be kept a secret until Microsoft's event next month in which the company will announce the next-generation Xbox. Either way, be sure to visit your local GameStop on May 1st (or just come back to GameZone when we report on it) for a first look at the next Call of Duty.

Despite silence from Activision, we've heard tons of rumors and speculation about the next installment, rumored to be titled Call of Duty: Ghosts. According to sources, it is believed to branch out of the Modern Warfare series and move into a "different direction."
