Call of Duty: Ghosts supports Kinect navigation

Infinity Ward have yet to reveal specific plans for the Kinect on Xbox 360 and Xbox One, but the studio has told OXM that Call of Duty: Ghosts will support the functionality.

"We're doing some stuff, not really mentioning it yet," Infinity Ward's Mark Rubin told the website. "It's mostly menu stuff, so you can work all the menus with Kinect – that's a big thing that Microsoft's pushing. We need to see where it goes before we jump into it.

"We've never really been the company that thinks it has to be first in the line for tech," he went on. "It's the tortoise and the hare thing, and we'd rather be the tortoise, take our time on the tech and make sure it's right."

Despite the slow approach, Rubin maintained that "some interesting ideas" have been tossed around, especially with voice commands. "There's a lot of potential for voice in the game," he said, "and I'm hoping we can explore that. Whether it makes it into the game, I'm not 100% sure, but definitely in the future I think there's some really cool stuff."

While plenty of games support Kinect functionality, I'm hard-pressed to say that they are truly "better with Kinect." Hopefully this changes with the Xbox One, but I'm skeptical that the peripheral is useful for anything more than basic commands.
