Before we lose our sense of rationality (since discussing CoD in any context seems to do that to people), let's just make one thing clear, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is still the second highest launch of the year behind FIFA 17, and the franchise is in literally zero danger. That said, it's worth mentioning that Infinite Warfare has not sold nearly as well as last year's entry, Black Ops 3. How much worse? 48.5 percent to be exact.
Obviously, dropping the last-gen player base plays a factor (yes, some people still rely on the Xbox 360 and PS3 to play games on), but another factor could potentially be the new brand of Call of Duty that Activision and Infinity Ward have produced. After all, the game's reveal trailer was among the most disliked YouTube videos of all-time, though some contended that a bot may have had something to do with it.
We liked the game in our official review, namely the game's solid campaign, but the multiplayer has us (and others) feeling a bit unfulfilled. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is available now on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
