Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is just a little over a month away and to help make the wait more bearable, a beta is inbound.
Starting this week, PS4 players can get in on the action. The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare beta will begin on Thursday, September 12th and will be exclusive to players who pre-ordered for the first two days of the beta. From Saturday, September 14th – Monday, September 16th, the beta will be open to all PS4 users.
Of course, video games these days are pretty sizable downloads and one can imagine the Modern Warfare beta will be no exception. PS4 players will be able to pre-load the beta starting tomorrow (Tuesday, September 10th) and Xbox One/PC players will be able to pre-load prior to the 19th.
It should be noted that if you played the PS4 alpha last month, you can delete it as this beta is a new download file.
The beta will feature a number of different maps and modes that will be changing constantly to give you a taste of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s offerings. There’s no word on the specifics right now but we’ll likely hear more this week.
In addition to all of this, Activision also revealed their plans leading up to the game’s launch in October. Of course, the beta will run for the next two weekends but at the end of the month, we’ll have the first raw footage of the campaign. In early October, we’ll get the premiere of the game’s four-player Spec-Ops mode.
Needless to say, you’re going to get your Call of Duty fix before the launch of Modern Warfare. If you haven’t been keeping up to date with the new CoD, you can click here to learn everything you need to know about the game’s multiplayer.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will release on October 25th, 2019 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
