Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is one of the most anticipated games of the year, easily. It’s the return of a beloved subfranchise in the biggest FPS series out there and it looks to be better than ever.
After seeing the multiplayer reveal earlier this month, fans have been chomping at the bit to play it. While a beta is coming to all platforms this September, Infinity Ward announced a small scale alpha exclusive to PS4 today at Gamescom. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will feature a 2v2 mode called Gunfight which pits pairs of players against each other in minute long, close-quarter rounds.
The alpha will allow players to get a taste of Gunfight starting this week. If you want to get a feel for the gunplay and keep your appetite tamed, this will be the way to do it. The alpha will be open to all PlayStation 4 players starting this Friday, August 23rd and will run the entire weekend. Players will experience 5 maps during the alpha period, all of which are exclusive to the Gunfight game mode.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will release on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on October 25th, 2019.
