Call of Duty video teases futuristic warfare with Quadrotor weapon

The official Call of Duty website was updated again today, this time featuring a new viral video that suggests this year's title will feature futuristic warfare.  Yesterday's previously teased image now links to a viral video that shows off what looks like a new kill-streak award.  Unlike previous installments of the Call of Duty franchise which have been set in various time periods throughout history, it looks like this year's game, presumably Black Ops 2, will actually take place 10 to 15 years in the future.

In the video, "FPS Russia" operator Dmitri Potapoff plays around with a prototype Quadrotor: a tablet-controlled quadrotor aircraft equipped with a submachine gun.

"It may look like something you've seen before, but believe me, the technology in this baby isn't going to be out there for at least another decade," Potapoff said.  "In the next 10, maybe 15 years, shit is going to get very real.  We're talking about some pretty sophisticated warfare and the soldiers are going to need technology like this to get above the combat, around their enemies, and get into tight spaces."

After blowing up some mannequins and cars using the Quadrotor, Potapoff then dropped the major bomb:  this weapon "might" just be in the next Call of Duty game.  Which means it will, most likely as a kill-streak reward.

It should also be noted that Potapoff is wearing a "Tacitus" shirt which is also teased on the Call of Duty website.  Some have linked this to the Roman historian who wrote about solar eclipses and the solar eclipse this year that will occur on November 13.  Was he hinting a November 13th release date for the next Call of Duty? Potapoff shot down the idea saying it has "nothing to do with the historical figure."

So now it's up to us to speculate what it all means?  Will Call of Duty be set in the future?  Will it release on November 13th?  Will that quadrotor be a kill-streak rewards?  I'm sure the answers will come soon as Call of Duty is set for a worldwide reveal on May 1st.
