Call of Duty: Warzone now let’s you battle it out in Solos mode

Activision’s smash battle royale hit Call of Duty: Warzone just got a new update that adds a Solos mode. As the name implies, now gamers can enter the frantic battlefield as a one-man army.

Unlike the last CoD title, Activision has taken cues from the competition and decided to create a standalone and free client for a battle royale spin-off. Indeed, Blackout was the series first foray into the popular multiplayer mode but you had to purchase Black Ops 4 to be able to play it. With Warzone, the entry barrier is entirely removed as it is a full Free-to-Play title. No need to own Modern Warfare. Just download the client and you’re good to go.

In Solos, you drop into Verdansk alone with Battle Royale rules. That means no squadmates, no friends – only you and a pistol with a few bullets. Think of this as Free-For-All in a traditional Call of Duty game, but on a massive scale.
As you loot, complete Contracts, and survive against up to 149 other players, the circle collapse will roll in just as it does in a normal Battle Royale. The Gulag will still welcome in prisoners of the Warzone, but if you die in that 1v1 Gunfight, forget any form of redeployment – you’re out for good.

And go well it did. In less than a week Call of Duty: Warzone managed to amass a massive 15 million players. No question, Warzone is already thoroughly changing the established pecking order in the battle royale realm. Apex Legends, PUBG and Fortnite now got their arguably biggest competitor.

Today’s new update is only going to further help its popularity by adding a Solos mode. No longer do players have to enter the massive 150 player battlefield in a team. Now, they can rise up to the challenge and go against everyone on their own.
