Call of Duty: WW2 Head Talks Beta Leaks and Tweets out New London Map and Gridiron Game Shots

A ton of data and information from Call of Duty: WW2 was leaked online, thanks to some folks who dove deep into the beta files, all of which we've posted here. As you can imagine, that probably didn't sit too well with Sledgehammer Games, the development team handling the World War 2 game.

Michael Condrey, Co-Studio Head of Sledgehammer Games, has taken to the web to respond to the situation, saying:

Call of Duty: WWII has been in development for nearly three years, and we’re now less than a month before launch. We can’t wait for fans to experience it on November 3rd.  With Betas, there’s always the risk that some people will try and spoil that experience for others. We have had a couple things leak recently across multiplayer and zombies. It’s disappointing for everyone involved in creating the game. But, in the spirit of transparency, we want to be upfront about it. Some of the details were inaccurate, early, or still subject to change. Others we would consider spoilers. We never plan for leaks, but we also understand that it’s hard for fans not to read the news when it’s about something they are so excited to learn more about.

It's hard not to feel bad for the guy and the team at Sledgehammer. They managed to keep a portion of their game under lock and key, to keep the surprise(s) in tack. However, some people just need to ruin the fun. That being said, Condrey goes on to give players, as if they haven't gotten enough, a new look at the Gridiron Game mode, which is essentially a boots on the ground version of Uplink, but with a 1940's era football. On top of that, we have a screenshot of a London board (in the header), that looks awesome.

We are super proud of the game and cannot wait to play it with the community, so please hang on for a bit as November 3rd is almost here. In the meantime, here’s a first look at our London map in multiplayer. It’s a studio favorite for domination, hardpoint, and TDM, and we think it could be a standout for the competitive season ahead.  Also, it’s a lot of fun for the new Gridiron game mode coming at launch, here’s a taste.

Just a reminder, Call of Duty: WWII launches on November 3 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
