Call of Duty: WWII might not feature auto-health regeneration

The Call of Duty: WWII news has been pouring out since we got our first look and details on the game earlier today. Looking beyond the new third mode – the co-op mode – we might be seeing something else that's a bit new, but also old.

It appears as though the auto-regeneration of a player's health in Call of Duty is being thrown out the window for a much more classic approach, get shot and stay hurt til you find a health pack.

The health system wasn't talked about at length, but it looks like we won't be bullet sponges in Call of Duty: WWII:

"You have to worry about every bullet," said Sledgehammer co-founder Glen Schofield to Polygon. "You're not the superhero. You can't just stand there taking seven bullets, ducking, shooting again. It's refreshing for us to deal with recruits who aren't tier-one warriors, to show that vulnerability. They're naive. It's been a really cool challenge creating this different kind of gameplay."

Now, it's unclear if this health system will be in the campaign mode, co-op mode, and multiplayer mode or in just one of the modes, but either way, this is a clear move of Sledgehammer Games really going back to their roots.

Call of Duty: WWII is set to release on November 3rd, 2017 on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The game will have timed-exclusive DLC for the PS4 and will get a beta on the PS4 first as well. Other platforms will be getting the DLC and beta afterward.
