Call of Duty Developers Deny Paid Subscription Rumors

Rumors recently surfaced that Call of Duty will be adopting some sort of subscription-based plan. Gamers became angry. However, those rumors have been killed off by Josh Olin, community manager at Treyach, and Robert Bowling, Creative Strategist at Infinity Ward.

First, was a tweet by Bowling (Link), in which he said the following:
“Modern Warfare 2 subscription plan rumors going around. For the record, nobody has to pay to play COD or MW2 multiplayer, nor will they.”

Not long after the public face of Infinity Ward came forth, Mr. Olin (Link) at Treyach spoke up on the matter:
“No, you will not have to ‘Pay to Play’ #CODBlackOps Multiplayer either. Rumor -> Squashed.”
