In most cases, developers use reference photos to help design certain video game assets. But we're at a point now where games' photorealistic graphics are getting hard to distinguish from the real thing. Case in point, a new photo shared by Need for Speed developers Ghost Games in a post on Speedhunters.
In the post. the developer shared a photo of a few reference photos side by side with screenshots of the same scene recreated in the game render engine. Can you tell which one is real and which one is in-game?
Okay, to the keen eye, it's probably not that hard (screenshots are on the left), but at quick glance it's pretty darn close. Of course, photorealistic graphics don't always translate to gameplay. Still, there's no denying the game looks hella good.
