Cancelled Star Wars Battlefront 3 to be remade in Unreal Engine 4 by fans

It will be free too!

Last year EA and DICE released the first-person shooter Star Wars Battlefront across the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. While the game should have kept fans busy, a part of the Star Wars gaming community was still focused on the game that could have been – Star Wars Battlefront 3.

Over the past few years we have seen gameplay leaksawesome aerial battles and heard numerous other rumors that suggested the game had been at around 75% complete before being cancelled (a developer on the project called that rumor "just bullsh*t").

Similar to the Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic remake, a fan project is looking to resurrect Battlefront 3 in Unreal Engine 4 and releasing is for free with plans for DLC in the future. The Battlefront 3 resurrection is called Star Wars: Galaxy in Turmoil and it's being developed by Russia-based Frontwire Studios.

So far, Galaxy in Turmoil has been detailed to feature a flyable X-Wing and Y-Wing spacecraft – bringing back aerial battles, DC-15S Blaster Rifle,Republic Grenade Launcher,Republic Missile Launcher,Z6 Rotary Blaster Cannon, and A280C Blaster Rifle weapons, as well as maps for the Test Room, Hoth, Tatooine, and a Space-to-Ground Test Map.
