Candy Crush developer King shutting down five online games

King, the developer behind the wildly popular — and equally annoying — Candy Crush Saga, is shutting down five of its online games in order to focus on their more lucrative games, like Candy Crush. The five games being shut down are Bubble Saga, Hoop de Loop Saga, Puzzle Saga, Miner Speed and King Gold Games.

In speaking with GamesIndustry International, the company said, "In order to invest resources behind its most popular games and its forthcoming launches, King has decided to close some of its smaller titles next month.

"The games affected typically have fewer players and, in some cases, were earlier iterations of the hugely successful Saga model that King has developed over the past two year."

Something else King has developed: the ability to brainwash adult over the age of 45 to barrage their Facebook friends and family with Candy Crush Saga invites or asking them for help. CUT THE SH*T, DAD!

Just so you understand how big Candy Crush Saga is, in January, it had 9.7 million daily active users on Facebook. That's a million more users per day than Zynga's FarmVille 2 — holy crap, there's a FarmVille 2?! — which previously had the highest number of daily users at 8.7 million.
