Capcom has confirmed that the third Lost Planet game is currently in development. The game will release for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC in early 2013.
Set before the events of the first game, Lost Planet 3 takes players to E.D.N. III to gather energy and prepare the world for colonization. In addition to the monstrous Akrid that populate the planet, the developers are paying more attention to the environment's diverse creatures — adding in enemies like mammals, fish, and crustaceans, along with the usual insects.
Players control a new protagonist named Jim, a pilot from Earth. Gameplay will combine first-person and third-person combat depending on the situation, and an array of multiplayer will be included.
