Capcom bringing Mario Party to arcades in Japan

As is always the case, Japan gets all the cool things. Revealed by Anime News Network and confirmed through the launching of an official site, Capcom is developing a new Mario Party — but there's a twist.

The new game, Mario Party Fushigi no Challenge World Mario Party Mysterious Challenge World) is being developed specifically for arcades in Japan. It will make its official debut at the Japanese Amusement Expo on February 19th.

The arcade iteration of Mario Party will seemingly play just like the other versions, allowing players to select a character from the Super Mario Bros. series and venture across a board whil participating in mini-games, jackpot games, and boss events that are sure to turn the best of friends (or strangers) into sworn enemies.

The game will allow for up to six players set up at individual touch panels in a circular formation around projector that shows a roulette.

More details will presumably be revealed in the coming days.
