Capcom Games On Switch: “No Time to Make New Games For a Console Within a Year of Its Launch.”

Capcom, a classic contender in the video game space, can't seem to decide if it likes good press or bad press. Launching hits like the Resident Evil and Monster Hunter franchises, they certainly know how to make good games. But they always seem to take two steps back after a positive piece of news. Today follows that trend as the company reveals why they don't have any new titles for the Nintendo Switch.

Instead of just saying that they missed the boat, a company spokeswoman for Campcom stated that it's normal procedure for third-party software developers to only make re-releases on a new console during its first year of launch because there isn't enough time to make new games within the timeframe.

Meanwhile, there are plenty of Switch titles that debunk that claim, not to mention Capcom themselves disproved it with their exclusive Xbox One launch title Dead Rising 3.

It seems likely that Capcom underestimated the Switch before its launch, but the important piece of news here is that we're likely not getting a new Capcom game on the Nintendo Switch relatively soon.
