Capcom is now remastering Resident Evil 0

Resident Evil 0 HD announced for 2016 release

With the success of Resident Evil HD and Capcom's promise to continue remastering popular older titles, the company confirmed today Resident Evil 0 HD, a remastered version of the popular prequel to the original title in the Resident Evil series.

Though not much information was revealed today, Capcom did confirm that original Resident Evil 0 Director Koji Oda "and additional staff" are returning for the development of the new remastered version.

It was also confirmed that Resident Evil HD is planned for release on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC in early 2016. More information will be shared "in the coming weeks," Capcom says.

Resident Evil 0 was first released on Nintendo GameCube in 2002, and was later ported to the Wii in Japan in 2008 and in North America in late 2009. The story follows officer Rebecca Chambers as she investigates a series of murders while teaming up with convict Billy Coen to survive the zombie outbreak.
