With the new console generation from Microsoft and Sony being unable to support backwards compatibility and fans looking to keep the nostalgia of older games alive, game developers have taken to creating HD remakes of older games.
Square Enix has taken a step towards resurrecting older games with the help of their community with the Collective program. Sony is possibly doing the same with MediEvil on the PlayStation 4. Capcom recently released a Resident Evil HD Remake (it was done pretty well) and released DmC: Devil may Cry Definitive Edition in the same year.
Even if they just launched an HD remake less that a half a year ago, Capcom isn't done yet. The longtime developer plans onĀ using "existing intellectual property, such as by selling HD remastered versions of popular older games." Currently, Capcom is working on Devil May Cry 4 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC and are possibly working on an HD Remaster for Resident Evil Zero.
