Capcom’s Resident Evil HD remaster sells one million copies

Capcom's Resident Evil HD Remastered edition was met with great reception when it released three months ago. Although it can be summed up as a "better looking 2002 GameCube version with better controls," apparently that's enough to convince fans to head back into the horrifying mansion that originally debuted in 1996.

Capcom announced today that Resident Evil HD Remastered has sold more than one million copies globally since its release in late January. That makes it the company's "fastest selling digital title in history across Europe and North America."

This isn't the first sales milestone for the remastered game. In February, Sony announced that Resident Evil HD Remastered set the record for "the biggest selling day one digital title on the PlayStation Network" for January.
