Capcom targeting Street Fighter V rage quitters with severe punishment

Rage quitters are not an uncommon occurrence, regardless of whether you're playing a first-person shooter like Halo, a MOBA, an MMO or fighting game. Almost every game has a community of rage quitters, but what matters isn't the amount of people unable to control their rage, it's what the game developer does to keep those that don't rage quit safe.

In the recently released Street Fighter 5, if a player quits an online game out of fear of losing nothing happens to them – they don't even lose their win streak. The person that would have won the game, however, misses out on their win which may cause them to lose their hard earned win streak.

Capcom won't be having this occur any more, the developers are looking to resolve the problem… They just need your help.

“Yes, we are well aware of the problem of players disconnecting before the match ends to retain their League Points and their win streaks,” a post on the Capcom Unity blog reads. “Thanks to all of the players who have brought this to our attention.

“We are working on a permanent solution to this problem, though we don’t have an exact date to share with you at the moment. That said, we are going to take direct action starting next week to punish those players who are abusing the system. This punishment will be severe for the worst offenders, but we will need the community’s help with this.”

Capcom want players to use their platform of choice's features to record every rage quitter they encounter and share it with the developers. You can do so on their blog or through their twitter.

Oh… and just because I can….
