Capcom’s newly formed mobile sector, built from the heretofore independent Beeline and Capcom brands, will release mobile installments of Monster Hunter, Mega Man and more in the current fiscal year (by March 31, 2017).
Capcom’s “mobile business division” plans to release four mobile titles in the 2016 fiscal year by “aggressively utilizing” the company’s IP. In addition to Monster Hunter and Mega Man, a Sengoku Basara game is also in the works.
The new division was formed to allow Capcom Mobile to keep pace with the explosive mobile market. Capcom predicts global mobile revenue will grow from $27.5 billion in 2015 to $37.4 billion in 2019.
“Mobile content is a driver of growth in the game market as well as an important factor in Capcom’s growth strategy,” the company said in a release.
“The Capcom group will continue to maximize revenues by proactively releasing popular IP in the high-growth mobile games market.”
