How excited are Marvel fans to see Captain America square off against Iron Man? Well, if the trailer is any indication, Captain America: Civil War could be Marvel's biggest super hero flick yet — yes, even bigger than the Avengers (although with Civil War having just about every super hero in it anyway, isn't it really just another Avengers flick?)
Whatever, the case, the first trailer for Captain America: Civil War dropped last week and is already shattering Marvel's own records. According to company, the trailer received 61 million global views in just its first 24 hours, the most of any Marvel film.
The trailer, which premiered on Jimmy Kimmel Live and immediately debuted online globally, almost doubled Marvel's previous record, held by the first trailer for AVengers: Age of Ultron. In 2014, Age of Ultron debuted to a then record-breaking 34 million views.
The all-time views record is currently held by the full trailer for Star Wars: The Force AWakens, which debuted with 128 million views in a single day. Interestingly, the trailer for Captain America: Civil War will be attached to The Force Awakens when it premieres in theaters later this month.
