Car Battler Joe makes its way to the Virtual Console

Once upon a time Natsume, the guys who made Harvest Moon, also made a car customization and driving game featuring a kid with feral red hair and a plucky little soundtrack. Car Battler Joe was a GBA game from the early aughts and played out in a similar vein to Autoduel and Car Wars and carries some pretty favorable reviews.

It’s also now officially available on Virtual Console for Wii U. While there is a distinct lack of Pole Cats or War Boys, for seven bucks, it isn’t too bad a way to waste a Saturday.
