Cartoon Network chooses new developer for next Adventure Time game

WayForward Technologies won't be making the next Adventure Time game.

Cartoon Network has partnered with Little Orbit, the developer of mobile game Falling Skies Planetary Warfare (also due for consoles this year), to release the next entry in the Adventure Time game series, based on the popular show about a boy named Finn and his dog, Jake.

The title will join a second, "multi-property" game from the two companies that incorporates characters from across different Cartoon Network media. Both will launch globally in Q4 this year.

Previously, WayForward Technologies developed the Adventure Time games, Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?! and Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I Don't Know!. Both were mildly unsuccessful, especially the latter, with critics.
