Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 release date rumors ‘not true’ according to producer

Until yesterday, we had heard little to nothing pertaining to Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2. Konami’s upcoming sequel, which had already been confirmed and had said to be in firm development, was tossed into the spotlight yesterday, though, when an online retailer “ShopTo” reported that the game was set to release May 10, 2013.

After several outlets reported on the leak, Dave Cox, Lords of Shadow 2’s head producer, turned to twitter where he simply stated, “Not true.”

Cox also confirmed that a date would not be revealed at next week’s Spike Video Game Awards, though we can expect to hear more on Mirrors of Fate, Lords of Shadow 2’s prequel on the 3DS.

With the VGA’s marking the undefined end of the gaming year, we shouldn’t expect to hear anything on LoS 2 until 2013. The original Lords of Shadow showcased impressively back in October of 2010, backed by a 83 on Metacritic.
