Cave Story 3D Headed to 3DS

Daisuke Amaya’s Cave Story is arguably the most popular indie game ever crafted. With a free version available for download on the PC and ports available on WiiWare and DSiWare, the title has certainly received a great deal of exposure.

Yet another version of the game is slated to release, and this time on the upcoming 3DS handheld. Published by Nippon Ichi Software, Cave Story 3D will feature lively new visuals, slightly revamped level design (that will allow characters to move freely across a 3D plane), and all of the awesome gameplay of the original version.

The title is currently slated for release on the 3DS this summer.
