CBS has just released the first trailer for their upcoming Star Trek television series. Check it out above!
It was recently announced that CBS would finally begin production on the first Star Trek series to air since the conclusion of 'Enterprise' in 2005. With the release of this summer's Star Trek: Beyond only a few months away, the studio has begun hyping their latest addition to the Star Trek TV mythos and revealed the first teaser trailer at the recent CBS Upfront presentation at Carnegie Hall. The teaser trailer shows only a traveling shot through a series of CG space debris and celestial bodies, before finally settling on the latest update to the original series title card with the classic score echoing in the background.
There's still no word on the official synopsis for the new series, but its slated to release next summer, following the 50th anniversary year of the show's original 1966 release. Its more than likely 'Star Trek' will follow the same time-tested plot of a Federation starship crew bodly going where no man has gone before, but its not off the table to expand the complexity of the series and give us an adventure through the final frontier the we might have never seen in past incarnations.
