CD Projekt doesn’t want you to stream and spoil Cyberpunk 2077 too early

It is indeed time. After many years of anticipation and an infamous delay-filled year, Cyberpunk 2077 is almost upon us. In exactly seven days the open-world action-RPG will launch at long last.

But that doesn’t mean that people aren’t already playing it now. Due to the nature of physical game distribution and some stores simply not caring about dates, CD Projekt’s highly-anticipated new game is already out in the wild.

Mind you, it’s not that some users are simply playing the game early, but they are actively streaming it to the world as we speak. As such, spoilers for the game are making the round on the internet.

Cyberpunk 2077’s developer now kindly asks everyone who got the game early not to ruin the experience for other gamers preemptively. It’s a fair thing to ask and CD Projekt will send digital watchdogs after everyone who does.

Still, this means, be careful when you stumble across Cyberpunk 2077 content on streaming sites and social media. It would be a shame for a pure first-time playthrough for what promises to be a story-heavy experience.

Furthermore, there’s an even bigger reason to steer clear of early Cyberpunk 2077 streams. As you might remember, last month’s last-minute delay was used to polish the game intensively. Meaning, the version of the game that is being streamed at the moment is the old build. As such, it’s not representative of the intended experience together with the launch day patch.

Cyberpunk 2077 comes out on December 10th. You can play the game on PC, Stadia, and current & next-gen consoles. A dedicated free next-gen update targets 2021.
