CD Projekt Red has announced a partnership with R.Talsorian Games to make The Witcher a pen and paper experience, on top of it simply being a videogame (and a series books). R.Talsorian Games are the very same people that created the hit pen and paper role-playing system Cyberpunk 2020.
As we well know, CD Projekt Red is working on a game based off of Cyberpunk 2020, known as Cyberpunk 2077. The Witcher Role-Playing Game is set for a 2016 release, with more information on the system, price and availability coming soon.
According to CD Projekt Red, tabletop RPG fans will be able to "re-create an array of characters known from the Witcher universe and live out entirely new adventures set within the world of Geralt of Rivia." For those familiar with Cyberpunk 2020, The Witcher Role-Playing Game will follow the same ruleset – Fuzion. Some of the best news for fans of the Witcher series is that the game will have a number of spells, rituals, and curses from the games, along with gear and items from the entire Witcher series including the monsters.
This is how I'm imagining Witcher 3 fans that happen to love pen and paper RPGs.
