CD Projekt Red explains their modern approach to Cyberpunk

A week ago, CD Projekt Red co-founder and CEO Marcin Iwiński said that they were "not looking at a retro feel for [Cyberpunk]."

Speaking to GameFront, managing director Adam Badowski talked more about their vision for the game.

Cyberpunk is about the not-too-distant future, so we have to refresh the classic Cyberpunk setting,” said Badowski. “Our inspiration is more around the film Blade Runner. Cyberpunk is more about how technology empowers you to change the world on your own.”

“So we’re not recreating a ‘retro’ world, because I don’t think that would be believable to a younger audience," added Iwiński, who says the team is working closely with original creator Mike Pondsmith to modernize the game.

Do you feel that CD Projekt Red is headed in a good direction with the new Cyberpunk?
