CD Projekt RED presents their financial results for the first Quarter of 2017

The Poland developer, famous for the Witcher series, presented today their financial results for the first half of 2017. They couldn’t be happier to announce that the company posted nearly $71 million US dollars in sales revenues ($ 71’438.123,33) and a net profit of $ 33 million US dollars ( $ 33’333.052,39).

The company attributes this results due to sales of games from The Witcher series, especially Witcher 3 Wild Hunt and its DLC’s, which are currently celebrating its 10th anniversary. Witcher 3 The Wild Hunt received positive reviews and was a critically acclaim success as an open world massive RPG.

“Over the past decade, we have built a strong brand and released excellent games” says Piotr Nielubowicz, Vice President and CFO. One of those is GWENT: The Witcher Card Game. According to Piotr, the game is currently under “intensive development”. They added a new starter deck and animations on all cards. They even announced their e-sports strategy for next year, which will be a series of professional tournaments for GWENT for a total prize pool of USD 850.000

A key highlight in this report is the introduction of GWENT on the Chinese market. The company established an office in Shanghai where they will oversee the publishing and promotion of games in China.

Moving onto future investments, the company spent $ 27 million US dollars on the development of new projects (cyberpunk 2077). No more information was giving regarding the game unfortunately. Shareholders received their first ever dividend paid for the amount of $ 28 million US dollars.

The company expect this tendency to continue through the rest of the year.
