CDPR: Cyberpunk 2077 to be ‘much better’ than originally perceived

The highly-anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 has a magnitude "much greater" than The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt, according to resident Adam Kiciński and Studio Head Adam Badowski.

The pair discussed the potential of CD Projekt RED's upcoming title during the company's 2015 financial results conference, where it was made clear that the game was "a long way away from the premiere" with "a lot of work to do" before specific dates and details can be unveiled.

But it seems no matter how many times they tell the gaming community that this new title will not be released soon, they drop another batch of huge promotional statements to keep people interested in developments.

Badowski claims Cyberpunk 2077 will have to be “even better, even bigger, even more revolutionary” than developers had originally thought, which is why CD Project still has “a lot of work to do” on it. They want it to be a “truly outstanding game. ”

It seems that developers, while aspiring to surpass The Witcher 3, are using the 2015 title as a way of tweaking and making this next game even better. However it seems not everything is going entirely to plan, which could be one reason for a tireless wait for more information surrounding the title.

In October 2015 a Projekt RED visual effects artist, Jose Teixeira said: "Cyberpunk is far bigger than anything else that CD Projekt Red has done before. We're really stepping into the unknown in terms of complexity and size and problems we encounter.

"The Witcher helped Cyberpunk quite a bit, because the game got so big and so complex that it really taught us. We really didn't know what was going to happen.

“If anything, working on The Witcher 3 was a really good and often brutal learning experience. Cyberpunk is going to benefit greatly from it. I can almost guarantee it," he added.
