CES 2013: Nvidia reveals Project Shield, a Tegra 4 powered Android handheld

I'd be lying to you if I told you I knew just how powerful the Tegra processor really is. We see Tegra processors in various smart phones, as well as the upcoming OUYA console. However, Nvidia has some more tricks up its Tegra sleeve.

At CES 2013, Nvidia unveiled Project Shield, an Android gaming handheld that uses the Tegra 4 processor. This handheld is essentially a fully featured controller with a flip-up, 5-inch screen that's capable of 720p HD display. The handheld will also support HDMI out if you want to play your games on the big screen, as well as a MicroSD slot for expandable storage.

Not only will you have full access to Google Play, the handheld is also allowing remote access to your PC, including Steam, which means you'll be able to play those games whenever you're within the same local Wi-Fi network.
