CES 2017: Mass Effect: Andromeda gets new gameplay and features detailed

Earlier today, Bioware's General Manager Aaryn Flynn announced the Mass Effect: Andromeda release date for this March. Tonight, at CES 2017 in Las Vegas Nvidia revealed a number of new items and pieces of technology, one of which was some new gameplay for Mass Effect: Andromeda.

Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang took the stage and began the night by mentioning some of advancements in technology like AI deep learning, network advancements and minor robotic locomotion. Aaryn Flynn joined him on stage and discusssed the new things that Mass Effect: Andromeda was doing with a new, deep story.

A short gameplay video of only about a couple minutes was shown detailing a loyalty mission for your companion Peebee. In the video, we see some quick new abilities such as the Omnit-tool flamethrower. In addition, Flynn also revealed the new dynamic character class change system. For the first time, Mass Effect: Andromeda will let you change your class on the fly, which will in turn automatically adjust your abilities and mechanics.

Flynn did detail how the team would be able to travel so far away at faster than light speeds even though the game takes place in between Mass Effect 2 and 3, humans discovered element Zero on Mars. This transforms your mass into zero, which in turn allows you to travel at light speed. The issue of how this exists during the last two games, yet somehow wasn't used in those games, was not clarified however.

After the video, no more information was revealed and Nvidia continued the show. For now, we'll have to wait until March 21st to get our hands on Andromeda for those in North America. The UK release date will be two days later on March 23rd.
