Channing Tatum could leave X-Men spinoff film Gambit

A new report stemming from "an individual with knowledge of the situation" claims that Channing Tatum is close to walking from his role in the upcoming X-Men spinoff, Gambit.

According to TheWrap, the Magic Mike star's deal to play Gambit "is in jeopardy of falling apart" and he is "planning to exit the comic book project," for reasons unknown. Another individual "close to the project" says Tatum's reps are still in "active discussions" with the studio, "but acknowledged something is up."

Gambit was originally slated to hit theaters on October 7, 2016, but should 20th Century Fox have to find a new leading man, that date could be in jeopardy.

Personally, I never cared much for Tatum's casting as the Louisiana native who possesses the ability to mentally create, control, and manipulate pure kinetic energy. I say bring back Taylor Kitsch who was absolutely marvelous as the character in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but completely underutilized.

Who would you like to see cast as Gambit in the upcoming spinoff film?
