Check out how Dragon Quest XI looks like on the PlayStation 4 and 3DS

I'm really loving the concept behind the 3DS version, where the top screen is a 3D game, while the bottom screen shows the game as a 2D RPG.

Dragon Quest XI is notable for many reasons. For one, it's the first core game in the franchise that's being simultaneously developed for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo 3DS. It's also one of the first games to get announced for Nintendo's NX console/handheld/thing.

And even though we don't know whether US gamers will get a chance to ever play the games, at least we have 4gamer.net to thank for these screenshots, that further reveal how great the game looks across both platforms.

The PS4 version looks fantastic, with realistic backdrops inhabited by cartoon characters. Check out the next page for the 3DS screens.
