Check out LEGO Dimensions’ new features as Year 2 launches today

LEGO Dimensions year 2 begins todayy, so of course we have a host of new characters and packs to play with. ON top of that, there are also some new additions in the new Battle Arenas mode.

Five packs in total released today, including Ghostbusters Story Pack, A-Team Fun Pack along with Mission Impossible, Adventure Time and Harry Potter Level Packs. Each new character now has a gold bottom that triggers a Battle Arena specific to that character's world. You will access it through that character's Adventure World, and it will feature multiple mini-games you can play with up to four of your friends. It will use the new split screen mode, and any character can be used in any world as long as you have one for the world you are in. So, in order to use the Adventure Time World, you'd need atleast one character from that world to access it, but can use even year one characters in addition.

The Ghostbusters Story pack allows you to reshape the toy pad into a Ghostbusters portal and ties into the recently rebooted film as well. A total of four waves will be released in year two, with the breakdowns as follows:

Wave 7 – November 18th

  1. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Story Pack
  2. Sonic The Hedgehog Level Pack
  3. Gremlins Team Pack
  4. E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial
  5. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and Adventure Time Fun Packs

Wave 8 – February 10th, 2017

  1. Knight Rider
  2. Batman Excalibur Fun Pack
  3. LEGO Batman Movie Story Pack

Waves 8 and 9 have no dates yet, but will be split up including Teen Titans Go!, Beetlejuice, Power Puff Girls, LEGO City Undercover and Goonies. Of course, any additonal pop up packs like Batman Movie may also be included. Most likely some of these five will be included in wave 8, as all five in the final wave would be pretty big. We're not sure which ones it will be, but we'll let you know as soon as we hear the dates.

Which franchises do you want to see in LEGO Dimensions? Let us know below. I mean is that hard to give us a TMNT pack? Seriously.
