So NBA Live 15 has been delayed from October 7 to October 28 to polish the game. We're fine with that. But I'd like a little sneak peek of what we can expect from EA Sports basketball this year, wouldn't you?
In the NBA Live 15 Gameplay Blog, EA Sports shared some of the first details for this year's game. Of course AI is being upgraded, as well as the control scheme, but the biggest change is probably to the animations. Whereas in NBA Live 14 the gather (where the player picks up the ball and begins his footwork into a shot or any type of jumping motion) and the shot were two separate animations, this year they are one animation. With a ton of new dunk and layup animations, there will be plenty of variety, don't worry. But what this does is preserve the integrity of the motion capture for smoother-looking plays, and reduces hitches in the animation.
In this next video, you can see James Harden's signature move and the better ball handling. I'm not a Harden fan, but he is an explosive offensive player, so EA Sports wanted you to feel totally in control of how quickly you can attack the basket after creating an opening off the dribble. Dribble moves are simplified and mapped to flicks and holds of the right thumbstick.
