Check out the first image of Katherine Waterston in the Prometheus sequel, Alien: Covenant

I can't wait for this movie.

The Prometheus sequel has been in the works since the original released in 2012. The film has been detailed to be bringing back the entire Alien family: the face-hugger, chest-burster and 'the big boy' and to feature the two biggest qualities from the Alien film.

While plenty has been said on the film that changed titles a couple of times before landing on Alien: Covenant, we haven't seen much of the film's set or cast. That finally changed today, thanks to a post on the official Alien Facebook page.

The image (shown above), gives us our first look at Katherine Waterston's character Daniels who was detailed to have "Nowhere to run." Looking at the picture you can totally tell that it's an Alien movie – the main protagonist is female, she's sweaty, wearing a tank top and has short hair. It's all there, in addition to the dimly lit hallway, the exposed wires, and a fire in the ship – probably to ward off an alien intruder.

The Prometheus trilogy will be a prequel to the Alien trilogy, with Covenant picking up 10 years after the events in Prometheus.

The film is set to release sometime in 2017.
