The latest trailer dropped today for the highly-anticipated mini-series, DC's Legends of Tomorrow (Check it out above)!
Elaborating on the trailer we received a few months back, this one appears to flesh out the idea already presented. Vandal Savage, a caveman given superior intelligence and immortality, has made his way throughout history, garnering resources and fortunes until he unleashes a reign of tyranny in the distant future. The world's only hope is for Time Master, Rip Hunter, to travel to the past and recruit the legendary champions of the future to stop Savage before his terror comes to pass.
Thrilling heroics aside, the trailer also features some pretty important changes being made to the mythos overall. As it turns out the original trailer was merely "conceptual" as many of the characters featured will not have a place in the series. Despite what we saw originally, there seems to be an absence of both The Flash and Green Arrow (except for a quick cameo), as well as the Firestorm combo of Dr. Stein and Jax, as opposed to Ronnie Raymond. The primary team will now consist of White Canary, The Atom, Firestorm, Hawkman, Hawkgirl, Captain Cold, and Heatwave.
The trailer also appears to showcase a lot of easter eggs you might have spotted. The most obvious one is Vandal Savage's voiceover saying, "I've seen men of steel die and dark knights fall…" in reference to the apparent deaths of both Superman and Batman in this future. At one point, you can even see Captain Cold eyeing a large green ore labeled "Maximillian Emerald", which could mean the set-up for the classic villain, Emerald Empress.
