Check out these throw back vintage game ads

Between people losing their minds over the color of a disposable coffee cup and the looming American tradition of gift buying stampedes and gruesome Black Friday death tolls, it’s pretty clear the holidays are upon us. Over the last couple of weeks several major retailers have had their Black Friday specials leaked, something that’s increasingly easy in a world of social media and camera phones, but once upon a time you really would have had to wait until you could get your hands on a tangible paper copy of a retailer’s sales flyer before you knew what was up.

While these aren’t strictly Black Friday specials, this group of old Kay Bee Toys (America’s Toy Store!) compiled by Flickr user tOkKie-Pokie from the late 80’s and early 90’s were clearly in anticipation of the consumer madness that engulfs the back half of the year.

Featured prominently are the original NES, Sega Genesis, and the GameBoy. It’s a fun look back at the kinds of things early Millennials were desperate for and while the price stickers may seem wallet friendly to a 2015 perspective, keep in mind with inflation factored in, that $90 GameBoy would be around $173 today, not much less than the current $200 price tag associated with the newest model 3DS XL.
