If you're familiar with Star Wars: A New Hope, you probably know that Obi-Wan Kenobi didn't last very long in his fight with Darth Vader on the first Death Star. Obi-Wan was struck down by pretty soon after we were introduced to him.
Of course, after he was struck down he became 'one' with the Force and appeared later on as a Force-ghost thing. According to Peter Mayhew, the actor under all the fur – Chewbacca himself, Obi-Wan could have a different fate.

Sharing pages from the original script, Mayhew revealed that it had been originally planned for Obi-Wan to survive. Instead of being smacked into the Force by Darth Vader, Obi-Wan was to be aided by Luke, flee the scene and live to fight another day.
Had this occured, Star Wars would have been drastically different.
