Chris Hardwick to return to Talking Dead following sexual misconduct investigation

Earlier this summer, nerd turned TV/podcast host Chris Hardwick found himself in the line of fire of sexual misconduct allegations. The allegations came from ex-girlfriend Chloe Dykstra who claimed he was manipulative, mentally abusive, and was a pretty disgusting human being all around. This news had Hardwick quickly suspended by employer AMC where he hosts a talk show for The Walking Dead.

AMC opened an investigation into Hardwick to see if there was any truth to what was said and see if Hardwick was worth keeping around. Today, AMC has announced they have concluded their investigation and Chris Hardwick will return to Talking Dead in August for the mid-season premiere of Fear The Walking Dead.

“Following a comprehensive assessment by AMC, working with Ivy Kagan Bierman of the firm Loeb & Loeb, who has considerable experience in this area, Chris Hardwick will return to AMC as the host of ‘Talking Dead’ and ‘Talking with Chris Hardwick.’ We take these matters very seriously and given the information available to us after a very careful review, including interviews with numerous individuals, we believe returning Chris to work is the appropriate step,” AMC said in a statement.

AMC previously looked to Yvette Nicole Brown to step in for Chris Hardwick. She’ll still host the show during The Walking Dead preview special on August 5th, she’ll continue to be a regular guest on Chris Hardwick’s show during the show’s run.

We’ll update this story if Hardwick releases a statement regarding the news.
