Christopher Nolan reportedly directing WWII action thriller ‘Dunkirk’

Multiple reports have linked director Christopher Nolan to a new action thriller movie set in France during World War II.

According to sources, Nolan will direct "Dunkirk" from his own original screenplay. It will tell the story of the Dunkirk evacuation, code-named Operation Dynamo, which saw the evacuation and rescue of thousands of Allied troops from the beaches and harbour of Dunkirk, France in 1940, during the Battle of France.

Sources say the lead roles will be primarily made of yet-to-be cast unknowns; however, Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance, and Kenneth Branagh are said to be in talks to join the ensemble.

Warner Bros. has reportedly dated the film for July 17, 2017. Shooting will begin in May and use many of the real locations of the true-life events.
